Get Up Sis!

At the end of May I took a solo trip to Dallas. It was a much-needed break and it came at just the right time.

When I tell you I got poured into, whew!

First off, there’s so much from the conference itself that I still need to process, unpack, and review. God was speaking to me in every session, and I plan to make time to sit with Him about it.

But sis! When was the last time you took a trip by yourself? I’m single but there are still people I deal with daily that make my life a so not regular single life, to say the least. So, it was time that I got away without being bombarded with messages on my phone or anything. I chilled, walked around the area, enjoyed the weather, journaled at the pool, went to the movies, and slept in. The best part of it all: I was at peace the whole time.

Your peace is important. Peace is priceless. Every single day people are searching for peace in temporary things, but it’s found right in the presence of God. What areas of your life are you not fully at peace?

I had to really ask myself this as I felt so relaxed during my trip… I may or may not have an issue with boundaries that I’m learning to navigate as a source of my situation. And maybe you have this issue to. You give and you give, and you give. You mean a lot to people, but do you mean a lot to yourself to make you a priority for a change? There’s so much you can learn about you when you shut off the noise and listen to what God is showing you. You know what that thing is! But have you taken the time to stop and listen?

I encourage you to take a trip somewhere, even if it’s local to your fav coffee shop or Target. Love on you, let God shower you and realize you deserve this. One of the speakers at this conference spoke about Tabitha from the book of Acts in a way that I could relate (Acts 9:32-43). I don’t have time to go all in now, but just know if you feel you have nothing left to give, it’s time for you to get up just like Tabitha. In this next season, it’s not about extending yourself to your own detriment. It’s about operating in purpose and being super in tune to the Holy Spirit over people. It’s about viewing life through a renewed lens of health and the power of the Spirit.

Take time for you sis. Allow yourself to receive, so you have something to give. Take time for you because God needs you to in order to access the other things He has for you. It doesn’t stop here, get up!

Peter sent them all out of the room; then he got down on his knees and prayed. Turning toward the dead woman, he said, “Tabitha, get up.” She opened her eyes, and seeing Peter she sat up.
