Take A Break
Learning to take care of yourself is a process. What works in one season, isn’t necessary for the next. What you couldn’t do in one season, you have more flexibility for in this one.
As it turns out, I’m loving the work from home atmosphere. It’s chill, it’s my space. I can snack when I want. If I get hungry early and eat my lunch, I still have food left for my other lunch. I can even sneak in a quick nap.
One thing that’s tough about working from home is the boundaries. When does the work end? It’s literally at home with me now. I’ve had to learn to take breaks in season past. This one is similar, but different. I’ve had to set certain hours for myself. While I joke about the lunch, there are times I’m tempted to work through them. I have to literally tell myself, you need a break, put it down it’s lunchtime.
Creating boundaries that allow us break help to ensure that we don’t burn ourselves out. We can refuel. We can reset our minds. I’m still learning to say no to some things, but not right now is also just as important. I’ve had to pull back from some personal projects that are good, but not for this season. Know yourself. Know when you need to back down from too many things going on. Know how to prioritize. Especially, when you work for yourself, learn how to set a clock for your break hours. When you come back to your work, you’ll be refreshed and more creative.
We often take on the role of superwoman subconsciously. We think we have to do it all when no one really asked us to do so. Give yourself a moment to breathe and really think through things. When you learn to take care of your well-being, you’ll look like superwoman to the ones that matter anyhow.
Keep your crown up,
