Quality Quarantine Time With God

Soooo, here we are! Still quarantined. Many of us now on a more restricted lockdown by our state.

This time spent inside can go one of two ways: you can make the most of it, or you can waste it. What are you going to do? Yes, do things you love, spend quality family time, work on those projects you’ve been putting off like writing that book, or that business plan. But, do you know what else I want to encourage you to do during this time?

Make quality time with your Heavenly Father!

When all around is chaotic, in all the things that are uncertain right now, God is the one that is steady and still faithful. He is there for you. And at a time where everyone seems to be in a frenzy, He will give you the peace and comfort that you need.

Recently, I had been reading and journaling in the morning. Then I decided to finally do the “Defined” bible study by Priscilla Shirer that I told myself I was going to start way back 5 months ago. What a better time than now, when I am settled and can focus for real?

It’s been real eye opening. I am able to change my perspective and really organize my day when I start it this way. When I’m in my regular routine it’s easy to get lazy, tired or just plain distracted. Then I have to remind myself when I’m off center to get back to being in my word and spending that quality time. But now, while I have no excuses at all, I get to reposition myself at His feet. No more excuses. No more distractions. I do have to force myself to turn off the Instagram at times. But, other than that, it’s time to get back to what really matters.

And pray, pray, pray! Lots of prayer right now. Prayer for your loved ones, leaders and even those that are unable to pray for themselves.

When you don’t know what to read or what to pray, may I also suggest you begin to worship and journal. Worship will keep gratitude on your lips and an attitude of praise. Journaling will help you to be transparent, open and honest with God! You can do one, two or all of these in your time with God each day. I prefer to switch it up based on what my spirit needs for the day so that it doesn’t become a checklist to simply say I completed it, but rather, real quality time spent with the One who knows me best from the inside out.

In the variety of ways that you can decide to spend your entire days’ time in your quarantine, make sure you set aside that quality time with you Heavenly Father. He desires that from you most of all. Sometimes it takes the special moments like this that force us to slow down and look up!

What do you like to do during your personal quality time with God in this season?

Keep your crown up,
