Don't Get Weary
The call is not for the weak minded.
Our journey with God is one that is built on a lot of trust. As soon as I think I got it, I understand, I suddenly don’t understand where all the pieces are going again. Here I am back on my knees needing direction from the One who gave it to me… and that’s a good place to be.
But oh, the woes of the journey.
It takes constant adjustment, growth, and maturity. When you answer the call make no mistake, along the way, you WILL get weary. But unlike when you are doing life for you, yourself, and you, that plan gets so much bigger. Our lives make impact on others that we will never know. Sometimes they may never even say anything. But the way you follow God is seen. How you have peace in your storms is admirable. How you stick it out when it’s tough is inspirational. How you stay consistent is amazing.
In my mind, I have quit and thrown in the towel several times. I have cried out to God in ways I could not explain to Him properly. I just knew I was tiiiied! I was frustrated. It no longer seemed like the passion I sought after. When I get in that mode, I know it’s time to pray. There may be something I’m doing wrong. Maybe God gives me a course correction. Maybe I’ve taken on too much in my own strength and need to reprioritize.
Let me not lie to you or give you just highlights. Yes, you will get weary. But there is power in being able to go to God. Never take for granted the power to meet with God about all that you feel. When you get weary get on your face before your Heavenly Father and seek direction. The road may not be easy, but you can do it. This is an opportunity that marks how it will end. He will renew your strength. He will give you the grace to keep going. When you think you’ve reached the end He gives you new ideas, creativity, and wisdom. It is bigger than you and requires you to stay at God’s feet. He knows the depth of your impact. Not because of you. But because you decided to trust Him.
Don’t discount your process. Just know that in due time it will all come together. Don’t be an open vessel just to be a vessel to be used by God. Be an open vessel that cheerfully partnered with God and saw the manifestation of His glory because of it. When it gets tough, hard, and overwhelming remember to trust God and rest in Him. He will show you how to keep going.
“Let us not become weary in doing good,
for at the proper time we will reap a harvest
if we do not give up.”
-Galatians 6:9
