A Design For Hope

Kate Spade.
Sought after designer.
Well respected in her industry.
Net worth $200 million.
Beautiful daughter.
Still, not at peace.

I hate news like the one the world heard recently about Kate Spade’s suicide. To have so much going on  that the world recognizes as great success, she still had no peace. She didn’t fully recognize the great purpose God had for her beyond the challenges she may have been facing at the time. Depression and other mental health issues are becoming too frequent. I pray for her daughter and her family.

Its stories like this that remind me of when i used to ask myself, “who would miss me?” “What’s the point of this life?”. I’m so glad i put those thoughts to the side long enough to feel God’s comfort and sweet whispers of my true identity.

It’s times like this that remind me of why i started this blog. To be able to reach young women like myself and show them there is more than what this world says. There is more than what others expect of you. There is more to you than what you feel. There is something greater on the other side. I pray for Kate’s daughter that she recognizes that truth too.

If you happen to come across this blog and have thoughts of suicide, please get help! It’s not worth it. The national suicide help line is 1-800-273-8255. Call!

Leave your name in the comments below if you’d like me to pray for you, or if you happen to know a loved one in this position. Leave their name so i can pray with you.

Let’s be a light in the dark places to show people there is still hope.
