Rest In Your Identity
My friends’ brother is having a baby! I’m so excited. I love staring at peaceful, sleeping babies.
Isn’t it funny how it’s so easy for us to love, but we can’t fathom this love for us from God?
I have found in discussions about our Heavenly Father that we tend to make Him complicated. Are there things I do He prefers I not? Yes. But, as I receive Him, seek Him, and do my best for Him, He simply desires me. That’s so hard to comprehend at times, yet it is not impossible.
9 In those days Jesus came from Nazareth in Galilee and was baptized in the Jordan by John. 10 As soon as he came up out of the water, he saw the heavens being torn open and the Spirit descending on him like a dove. 11 And a voice came from heaven: “You are my beloved Son; with you I am well-pleased.”
Mark 1:9-11
I am reminded that before Jesus had his followers, was performing countless miracles, God was well-pleased. I mean, it’s Jesus! But really examine this. That’s before He did a thing as Jesus. Jesus belonged to God. He was precious in His sight. As we believe in the sacrifice of Christ, remember that you have been invited into this same relationship.
So, before you stress out in figuring out your purpose, become troubled over the decisions that are God’s will, remember before you do any of it – God is well pleased.
He delights in you.
He loves you.
You’re His workmanship.
His beautiful masterpiece.
You are… His.
Rest in who you are today. Rest in the fact that loves because you are. Be who God sees you as. Find peace and joy in your being. From there everything else will flow.
