God Knows

The past few weeks, I’ve been super busy. Work has really been overwhelming. Yet, at the same time I know that I have my eyes set on 2020. As we have made it through the holiday months, I know that a season of transition is going to be upon me. I could feel the anxiety creeping in. Suddenly, I could hear that whispering thought that certainly was not my own creation:

“I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord. Plans for good and not for evil, plans to give you a future and a hope.”

That’s right. Smack dab in the middle of my worry, as I walked to my car, Holy Spirit reminded me of Jeremiah 29:11. It’s one of those familiar verses that even non-Christians know. It’s one of the ones I tend to skip over from time to time because it’s so familiar. But when I needed to hear it the most, it was SO powerful.

“I know the plans I have for you.” God is not going to let me down. He’s not going to fail me. Even if it gets tough. I have to learn to trust Him completely and not revert back to clinging to things tightly. What does God want for me? I have made it this far, so why I am overwhelming myself with what is to come? How could I forget the power of prayer?

Yes, prayer. Pray for the things that are overwhelming. In the middle of my busyness I have to remember the foundation of what sustained me. Prayer for direction, clarity, wisdom, discernment for the right doors to walk through. All of that I did leaning toward my sweet Heavenly Father. Now, how could I forget?

As we approach the close of the holiday season, I want to remind YOU that God sees you, hears you, and He has great plans for you! Surrender. Surrender. Surrender. Trust me, it’s SO worth it!
