Elevate Out Of Inconvenient Idleness
When it rains, it pours, but that’s no excuse for idle behavior.
In Miami it’s the peak of our Hurricane season right now. Because of that it’s been raining more frequently. One morning I went walking and it started raining more than halfway through. Luckily, I found a space to stop under the trees to find somewhat of shelter.
Sometimes the rain will stop almost as soon as it starts. Suddenly, the small trickle started becoming more of a steady stream of raindrops. I looked up and could see that this cloud may take a while. I had a decision to make:
I can stand here under this tree and get wet.
Or I can keep walking...and get wet.
As I pondered the thought, I also reminisced about other life circumstances. How often do we stop because things become hard, complicated, and difficult? Now, how often do we stop when they’re not? We just happen to be uncomfortable. We’re offended at the inconvenience.
God reminded me that whether it’s sunshine or raining, He’s right there with me. I can embrace it and let Him lead me through it. The other option is I can sit and complain in the middle of it. I am learning to no longer have time for the latter.
If it’s going to be difficult and uncomfortable, might as well keep moving toward the goal anyhow. I was going to be in the same situation whether I stopped or kept going. From now on let’s choose to keep it moving.
I made the decision that day to walk to my car in the rain. I made it to my destination safely. And I happened to make it out of the rain sooner than if I had just stayed in place.
Let’s stop becoming stagnant because our circumstances change. Let’s keep our eyes on the One above and know He will guide us through, no matter how big the storm.
Keep your crown up sis,
